Depending on its variety or the nation in which it is being referred to squash seeds commonly refers to four different species of the gene Cucurbita also known as marrows. C.Maxima (hubbard squash, some varieties of prize pumpkins, buttercup squash), C.mixta (cushaw squash), C.pepo (mostly pumpkins, summer squash, acorn squash, zucchini) and C.moschata (butternut squash) are the four main species of squash seeds. Squash is roughly grouped into winter squash or summer squash in the northern part of America, depending at the time they are harvested as mature fruit (autumn squash or winter squash) or immature fruit (summer squash).

The family of squashes also includes gourds. Zucchini and pumpkins are the commonly known types of squash. From Cucurbita maxima giant squashes are obtained and to the weight equaling to those of giant pumpkins, they are normally grown. A vine-like plant or a creeper, watermelon is a flowering plant belonging to southern Africa originally. A berry, it has a big fruit having a very thick rind and a fleshy center.

Normally, watermelon seeds are big and black in color. Sometime around summer watermelon seeds are normally planted and need a lot of water to grow.
