Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Rising Above All by Jesee Kihiko. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/risingaboveall was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.
A young educated woman from a wealthy family in central Kenya chooses to pursue a path less travelled by the well-educated and wealthy. In pursuit of her endeavors she learns of the hard life experienced by fellow countrymen and chooses to make a difference. However, in a highly ethnically polarized nation like Kenya, it is hardly possible to imagine that salvation can come from an outsider. In this tale of love and hate, apathy and empathy, hard work and determination, we come to accept that it is possible to rise up above the pettiness that divides us as a people.
303 pages in length, Rising Above All is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the action and adventure fiction category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Rising Above All meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $14.95.
Additionally, Rising Above All can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press Direct bookstore at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore.

About the author:
Jesee Kihiko was born in Kenya and grew up in the plains of Lakipia. He studied education at Moi University in Kenya and earned a Master’s degree at Bridgewater State University in the USA. He worked as a teacher, a loan officer and a development finance officer with a leading micro finance company in Kenya. While working with the Samburu people, he experienced firsthand the never ending conflict between their deeply entrenched cultural practices and modernity. He witnessed brutal domestic conflicts, early and forced marriages, exploitative child labor, crippling illiteracy, widespread poverty and marginalization of women. This book is a fictional chronicle of his efforts to bring about socio-economic transformation to a closed traditional society.
