Women choose Volvo for their families
The Volvo XC60 took first prize in the "Family Car of the Year" category in the first-ever Women's World Car of the Year competition.

The Volvo XC60 is a compact luxury crossover SUV that appeals to many different customer niche groups and has now been proved to be popular with women as well. The group and the award were established to inform the world's automakers about female customers' requirements.
The cars were assessed on a wide range of criteria described as a "women-specific shopping list." This includes factors such as storage space, child-friendliness, aesthetic appeal and driving pleasure. The 2010 Volvo XC60 is an impressive crossover SUV powered by a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, turbocharged engine mated with six-speed Geartronic transmission with standard all-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency is high at 16/22 mpg (city/highway) and is certainly a factor that impresses women since women prefer vehicles that give value for money as well as are environment-friendly. The 2010 Volvo XC60 has interiors that are made of luxuriant materials and the seating and layout is comfort-oriented. The XC60 has all the latest safety features.
In order to qualify for this year's competition, the cars had to be sold in at least 10 countries throughout the world and must have been available in the market between September 2008 and September 2009.
