“Leading women from government and industry will discuss how the sustainability landscape has changed over the past year and the impact it’s having on business,” said Ann Goodman, WNSF Executive Director. “This year’s theme, the ‘New Dynamics of Sustainability Leadership: Changing Roles, Fresh Opportunities,’ will allow speakers to discuss new approaches to promote sustainability globally.”
Speakers include: Hye-Won Choi, TIAA-CREF Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Governance and Co-Chair, SEC Investor Advisory Committee; Linda Fisher, vice president – DuPont Safety, Health & Environment and Chief Sustainability Officer; Beth Keck, Walmart Senior Director for Sustainability and Strategy; Moore, Sharon Nunes, IBM Vice President, Big Green Innovations, and Ponni Subbiah, Pfizer Inc. Vice President, Global Access. Among the sponsors for the summit are: The Coca-Cola Company, DuPont, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Pfizer, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Siemens.
Attendees of the WNSF 2009 Summit will not only hear the ideas from prominent speakers but will also discuss in small groups what they, individually, and their companies can do to accelerate sustainability. They can look at current business practices and brainstorm ideas about how they can implement sustainability through government attention and global networks.
The WNSF provides a forum for businesswomen to congregate, reflect and act on the convergent issues of social responsibility and sustainable development. Through meetings, training and online support tools, WNSF facilitates the exchange of experiences and best practices, building a community of businesswomen who can serve as powerful change agents for these increasingly essential business goals in the US and internationally. High on the list is preparing the next generation of women business leaders to achieve these ends. Through its activities, WNSF aims to strengthen business’s ability to attract and retain women as employees, consumers, stockholders and stakeholders by offering tools to help women put their values to work.
