FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 24, 2012 --
50 attendees – half of them already members – gather as professional women from across many industries. They bring their expertise, talents, passions; their questions, desire to connect, and their professional needs. This is really more than networking. The group is member-owned, and a member-driven interactive collective. It is based on a set of common values; organized around shared needs; is co-designed by members; flexible and responsive; and committed to the success of all members.
The Portland Community of the Magic Wand Collective is the very first new chapter expansion out of the founding Minneapolis, MN initiative. 18 months ago in Minneapolis, select women small business owners were asked, “What happens when women wave a magic wand over their businesses, each other and the community?” The result was a dynamic, new idea, the first Magic Wand Collective. Their goal was to reach 75 members by the end of 2011, which was surpassed by May 2011, and boasts over 100 members to-date.
“In the few short months of my involvement, I’ve met women of great commitment to providing resources and opportunities to each other. The Collective is based on the belief first in the idea of women using their considerable skills to create abundance in their own professional and personal lives.” – Terry W., Black Onyx Creations, Minneapolis, MN
Membership for the first 75 members is $15/month or $180/year. After that, membership will cost $25/month or $300/year. Women in small business across all industries are invited. First time visits to events are free. Visit our website at www.magicwandcollective.com or join us on Facebook or LinkedIn for dates of our quarterly large group gatherings or bi-weekly co-working sessions. Eventually members will be recommended for round-table small groups, broken out by business type to share ideas and accountability.
