AIESEC is a unique and a growing network of 35,000 students, located in almost 1700 universities in 107 countries. This is a global, non-political, a not-for-profit organization, independent and an entirely student-managed organization. It is run by students alone and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. AIESEC is known for the international platform it provides for many young students to explore and develop their leadership potential. Their core work is to facilitate internships. Today AIESEC is present in 14 cities exclusively in India, including all the metros and Delhi being one of their major hubs. AIESEC in Delhi IIT is the pioneering local chapter of AIESEC in India. It has been a local chapter, which has aligned itself to the global direction and has been taking innovative projects working on Entrepreneurship, Child rights, HIV- AIDS, Environment, Education etc. AIESEC believes strongly in its values of individuals taking responsibility, nurturing self-awareness, challenging perceptions, building networks, developing skills and knowledge and most of all, having a lot of fun doing what they do! AIESEC in Delhi IIT are running their ‘global entrepreneurship program’ for students through which they aspire to provide the youth with an integrated development experience of leadership, international internships, learning and networking to develop as progressive individuals. The types of exchanges available are management, development, technical and educational. They are also involved in their bi-annual ‘recruitment campaign’ this month bearing multiple benefits for their members wherein, AIESEC members have the opportunity to lead teams in different areas such as planning, decision making, public speaking and most importantly to turn their idea’s into action. The members also learn how to work effectively in diverse environments and see things in a global perspective. Their worldwide partners include PWC, DHL, Unilever, Microsoft and many more and in India, AIESEC’s partners include TATA Steel, Coca Cola, HSBC, ABN AMRO, Fortis, Godrej etc.
