Singer/Songwriter Finalist in the America Online First Break Contest

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 3, 2003 -- Durham, NC July 4, 2003 � Local singer/songwriter Tehree is 1 of 2 finalist in the America Online First Break Contest. He will be competing against another band for a chance to win a demo recording deal with Atlantic Record. Thousands of entries were submitted but the selection committee of industry judges chose the top 10 to be in the first semi-final round and AOL members voted for the top 2 finalists. With the huge popularity of American Idol, AOL is now on a quest to discover the �next big thing� with its First Break Contest.

Starting July 1st and running until July 15th, all AOL subscribers can log on and type in the keywords "first break" to vote for Tehree.



Singing since 9 years old, Tehree honed his vocal talents while pursuing a degree in music at Winthrop University. In 1997, Tehree was cast in a 70's revival show entitled "Beat Street A Go-Go" at Paramount's Carowind in Charlotte, NC. He sang, danced and acted in 5 shows daily for 7 months. The experience taught him discipline and reinforced his drive to be successful. It was at that point that he realized that entertaining people was a business and no matter the obstacle-the show must go on!

Through his unique styling, Tehree encapsulates the smoothness of Maxwell, the vocal range of Kenny Lattimore and the intoxicating lyrism of Brian McKnight. In its 2002 25th Anniversary year-end issue, Music Connection Magazine said he had one of the top 25 demos of the year.--"North Carolina based Tehree is an R&B crooner whose six song demo is jammed with oh-so-smooth and caressing sounds, not the least of which is his impressive voice, equal part Brian McKnight and Luther Vandross�Production and arrangements are skilled, with attractive back-up vocals surges that cream from the speaker. The song chosen for fans to listen to and vote for is entitled �Everybody Can�t Be Everything�. This song gives a revealing look into Tehree�s outlook and attitude. He�s an R&B crooner whose songs of love and devotion offer an underlying message hope and promise.
