Press Release
Covered Wagon Tours, Inc names Jesse Hanna Director of Marketing and Entertainment.
For more than 15 years Covered Wagon Tours (CWT) has welcomed thousands of valley visitors with true Western hospitality. As one of the major attractions in the Palm Springs area, CWT has emerged on the global scene as a number one choice for “a taste of the real West” while in California.
However, after nearly eight years of economic expansion, California—along with the rest of the nation—and the world entered an economic downturn. Layoffs by firms throughout the economy, with particularly large job cuts instituted by companies in the airline and travel sectors produced a vacuum for everyone in tourism.
With all this hanging in the balance CWT needed to restructure its approach to sales and marketing in so, naming Jesse Hanna Director of Marketing and Entertainment.
Hanna, already working with Covered Wagon Tours producing entertainment packages is familiar with the business. “It’s a learning curve. ’Not in terms of marketing but in the new ways we must approach it,” says Hanna. “It’s simple in theory. ‘In today’s competitive market we have to be really creative and learn how to spend imagination and not money” Hanna concluded.
New tourism trends show an inclination of travelers to stay closer to home. Experts agree that patterns such as "sea, sand and sun"- and particularly the desire of many tourists to travel to faraway, exotic destinations - are likely going out of fashion or at least on the back-burner for now. No matter though, Covered Wagon Tours is optimistic and gearing up for a record season.

"The business climate in California is very bad. We clearly need to get the private economy going again at a healthy level in order for California to recover from the financial situation we're in," said Bill Hauck, president of the California Business Roundtable in an article from the Sacramento Bee.
