NJ Celebrates its 2nd Annual Korean Thanksgiving Festival at Overpeck Park, Leonia, NJ
Fort Lee, NJ -- Sept. 10, 2003 — The Korean-American Association of NJ is hosting its 2nd annual Korean Thanksgiving Festival of NJ this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at Overpeck Park in Leonia, NJ.

The hosting organization, The Korean-American Association of NJ (KAANJ) is a leading Korean-American organization in the state of NJ, who has hosted its first Korean Thanksgiving Festival of NJ last year with an overwhelming turnout of 30,000 people from NY/NJ tri-state area. The success of last year’s event has called for its 2nd annual Korean Thanksgiving Festival of NJ, which is dated to take place on Sept. 14, 2003 with an estimated turnout of more than 30,000 people this year. This year’s event celebrates another special cause, which is the centennial anniversary of Korean immigration to the U.S. As an effort to mark this special celebration, the NJ State Governor, James E. McGreevey will commence the event by conducting a flag-raising ceremony, along with the presentation of his Proclamation.
The Festival is an all-day outdoor event, consisted of variety kinds of food vendors, cultural activities and performances, including Tae-Kwon Do demonstration and cultural dance performances, along with various sponsor booths, premiering their products and services.
The program agenda is as follows:
10:00 AM Festival Opens
11:00 – 11:20 AM Governor’s Flag-Raising Ceremony
11:20 – 12:30 PM Teenage Singing Contest
12:30 PM Opening Ceremony
1:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM Scheduled Programming
6:00 PM

The Korean-American Association of NJ (KAANJ) is a NJ-based non-profit organization that strives for the advancement of the Korean-American community in NJ with various activities, programs and services on professional, social, educational, economical and community service levels.
