Enhance Technology, Inc. today announced that Leitch Technology Corporation has certified UltraStor™ RS2080 PowerPC™ based ATA storage system for use with the next generation dpsVelocityQ™ and the Quattrus professional video editing/playback system. The UltraStor™ RS2080 400 series, featuring the supercharged PowerPC™ engine, has been certified to support 4 streams of uncompressed video utilizing a single RS2080 channel.



Real-time uncompressed editing is a demanding and intensive task for both the computer system and disk storage. The RS2080 is the first ATA based direct attached storage system to move into an area previously reserved for expensive SCSI based subsytems. Enhance Technology, Inc. has finally bridged the gap between SCSI / Fibre connectivity and the high availability of affordable ATA disk drives.
