About Us
We are part of an industry that recognizes the value, character and inherent well-being that comes from the great outdoors.
Specifically, our web site recognizes that there is a need for resources to help the do-it-yourself or self-guided adventurer. We believe most people, if given the proper information, can and would like to venture into the outdoors on their own without having to pay someone to do it.
Now, we know that guides serve a great purpose in the outdoor industry, but it seems that most Internet resources point only in this direction and as a result there's nothing out there for the self-guided adventurer. Let's face it, most people cannot afford to regularly pay a guide to take them hiking or kayaking, but they can do it themselves.
This is where WildernessTrip.com comes in, we believe we can help people to do self-guided trips by providing the information and resources needed. That's why we are part of a developing series of Internet resources for the self-guided adventurer. Currently, we have two web sites in this series WildernessTrip.com for places to go and WildernessOutlet.com for affordable gear to go with.
Many years of experience have taught us that getting through the planning and preparation stage is often the most difficult hurdle to overcome in realizing your adventure.
