October 20, 2003 (Press Release) --
Battic Door Attic Stair Covers recently introduced the Fireplace Draftstopper (tm) . The Draftstopper consists of an inflatable air pillow that is inserted into the fireplace, preventing air leakage through the chimney saving heating/cooling loss and energy costs. It is easily removed when the fireplace is used and quickly reinstalled after. Installers need only inflate the pillow, insert the pillow and install the supporting tee. The Fireplace Draftstopper (tm) compliments the Battic© Door Attic Stair Cover, a leading, low-cost, energy-saving cover for folding pull-down attic stairs. The Battic© Door covers and reduces air leakage between the house and the attic, saving heating/cooling loss and energy costs. Installers need only fold the cover into shape, install weatherstripping on the attic stair frame, and drop the cover down onto the weatherstripping. The cover embeds into the weatherstripping creating an air seal. New R-7 reflective and R-50 insulation kit options maximize the performance of the cover by restoring the insulation removed when the stairs were installed. For more information call Mark D. Tyrol, P.E. at 508.320.9082 or visit www.batticdoor.com.

Save home energy costs by preventing air leakage through the two largest intended openings in your house - the folding attic stairs and the fireplace.
