November 25, 2003 (Press Release) --
11-24-2003 - Fremont, CA - .com Solutions Inc. releases CGIScripter 1.51 Enterprise Edtion - Instantly writes Perl CGI Scripts for MySQL and Oracle databases. Maintenance update adds Solaris support and improvement to generated Perl CGI code.
CGIScripter instantly writes robust Perl CGI scripts allowing insert, query, update and delete of data stored within MySQL and Oracle database tables. IT departments can save thousands of dollars and weeks of development/debugging effort over creating these scripts manually.
This latest software release represents the first official announcement of Solaris support for the CGIScripter application. The addition of support for Solaris means that corporate IT departments can economically develop Perl CGI scripts for Oracle and MySQL databases directly on high-end Sun workstations and servers. Solaris binaries of the CGIScripter demo software are available on the CGIScripter web site downloads page.
This latest maintenance update of CGIScripter incorporates improvements to form data validation processing including the addition of an “Integers Only” validation method. The existing “Numbers Only” validation method has been improved by allowing the use of “-” “.” and the “e” and “E” characters for scientific notation.
Graphical interface improvements to CGIScripter include allowing the use of underscore characters within Oracle and MySQL database username fields. The CGIScripter application now includes the addition of single-click links to the www.cgiscripter.net web site. MacOS X users will find that configuration files with names exceeding 31 characters in length will now load correctly into the application. Output directory names including spaces will also work correctly on all four supported platforms.
Existing customers holding licenses for CGIScripter Enterprise Edition may upgrade at no charge to this latest update.
CGIScripter Enterprise Edition licensing includes use of the application by an unlimited number of users at any one site. Entire IT departments can improve programming efficiency by standardizing on the feature-rich and securely designed scripts generated by CGIScripter.
CGIScripter is a multi-platform development application which is available for MacOS X, Windows, Linux and Solaris.
A free demo version of CGIScripter may be downloaded for each platform from www.cgiscripter.net/downloads/index.html.
