December 10, 2003 (Press Release) --
LOS ANGELES – Susaye Greene and Dollface Records announce the release of Greene's first-ever Christmas EP entitled, "Christmas Wonderland", available through www.supremextreme.com, for $10.00, which includes shipping and handling within the continental United States. The classically trained artist introduces the four-track EP featuring traditional holiday lyrics combined with R&B, neo-soul, and contemporary sounds.
Greene co-wrote, along with Laron P. Christopher, the title track, “Christmas Wonderland”, an upbeat reflection of childhood Christmas memories.
“I have always wanted to produce a Christmas album,” says Greene. “After completing my first solo project No Fear Here for worldwide distribution earlier this year-there was just enough time to put together the EP that will segue into a complete album for next holiday season.”
The holiday EP includes the ballad, “The Gift” also written by Greene, and features a soulful version of “For His Love/Joy to the World”, an original song by Greene, a reinterpretation of the classic version of the holiday favorite, featuring pianist and vocalist, Charles Jones and rapper Schism, Greene’s 17-year old son. Also included is, "Ave Maria" (Shubert version) with string quartet.
Greene’s love affair with music dates back to her childhood in New York, where she attended the Professional Children’s School and the High School of the Performing Arts, immortalized in the movie “Fame.”
Known to most as the final member to join Motown’s legendary Supremes, the multi-faceted entrepreneur is also grooming several acts under her Los Angeles-based management umbrella, Coton Directions, and completing her first children’s book filled with warm and colorful illustrations entitled, “Those Cousins”, an inspirational coming of age story of three young girls exploring their imaginations and fulfilling their dreams.
Supreme fans will also be happy to learn Greene is penning her autobiography about her life-changing stint as a Supreme, entitled “Supreme Madness”. Greene is also headed back into the studio to produce a Spring 2004 release.
