December 13, 2003 (Press Release) --
The controversial report has also seen a rise in honey, cream and stale, week old coffee being used in both the production, and consumption of scones.
Association of Scone Makers Secretary for Scone Making Frank Gobbo has stated: "We are very happy for the news. Sally will be having extra jam with her scone tonight!"
Marketing insiders suggest the reason for the sharp rise in jam usage within the scone making and consuming population has something to do with its taste. Dorothy Porridge, a Kent housewife, says "My husband just likes them better with jam".
Other industry pundits aren't so sure. "We may have seen a rise in jam intake in recent years, however we've also seen a significant rise in hash butter and LSD being used in scones. Most people think they taste better than jam, and certainly give you a high that you wouldn't get from jam, regardless of its sugar content", says Jim Fix from the Legalize All Drugs group.
Whatever the reason behind the rise in jam usage, I know I'll be saying "I'll have mine with jam, hash and LSD" tonight.
