Butler Passes Special Enrollment Exam

Butler, President of Butler Consulting Group, Inc., has successfully completed the Special Enrollment Exam (SEE) administered by the Internal Revenue Service. Butler will soon join more than 30,000 other Enrolled Agents nationwide as the tax professional of choice for individuals and businesses. Butler was also accepted for membership in the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents (VASEA).

Enrolled Agents are professional tax practitioners who have demonstrated technical expertise in the field of taxation. The EA designation may be earned by passing a rigorous two-day exam administered by the IRS, along with a background check. EAs are licensed to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS for audits, collections, and appeals. In addition, EAs are the only tax practitioners required by federal law to maintain their expertise through completion of a minimum of 24 continuing professional education hours annually. NAEA members complete 30 continuing education hours annually to maintain membership.
