January 15, 2004 (Press Release) --
The new dog treats business is the pet project of Shelley Borle, an entrepreneur who embarked on the venture after adopting the most wonderful registered Beagle puppy named “Emma”, AKA “The Wild Hound”. "When we brought our wonderful puppy Emma home, little did I know she would soon become my business partner," Borle said.
Inspired by Emma’s fondness for her wholesome home baked treats, Shelley Borle decided to put her love for dogs and baking to work by making the all natural treats available for sale. The treats business is named after Emma “The Wild Hound” who has become an important member of our family. According to Borle, "Emma plays an active role in the business, serving as chief tasting specialist & customer relations greeter." She added, "I truly enjoy having the opportunity to spend time with Emma as we work. To me, there is nothing better than being able to work at home with my children and Emma near by."
Made by hand, one at a time, Wild Hound Bakery treats are baked with human grade ingredients and contain no sugar, salt, preservatives, colouring or additives. Wild Hound Bakery dog treats are currently available in seven flavours – BBQ Beef, Garlic & Cheese, Veggie Herb, Apple Cinnamon, Peanut Butter & Honey, Oatmeal Banana & Breath Buster, and can be purchased in attractive tin tie bags in varying treat sizes & quantities. Treats gift packages are available for holidays and special occasions ranging from Christmas and Valentine's Day to birthdays, obedience school graduations and more. Wild Hound Bakery dog treats are currently sold directly to consumers via the official web site at www.countryvariety.com/WHBhome.htm - with shipping in Canada and The USA. However, local retail stores have taken an interest in the new products and select stores will begin to offer items for sale this spring. Interested retailers may contact the Wild Hound Bakery Head Office directly at wildhoundbakery@countryvariety.com .
