January 16, 2004 (Press Release) --
New York, New York – Genio Group, Inc. (OTC BB:GNOI) developer of the Genio Card collection, the newest trend in trading cards is now available in 15,000 stores nationwide including major retailers such as Target, CVS, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, FAO Schwarz, Zany Brainy, Toys-R-Us, Walgreens and Linens & Things. These cards were designed and developed by The Genio Group Inc. based on the current educational theory that play can be a medium for the transference of knowledge.
Starting with the belief that, “The More You Know The Stronger You Grow,” the company set out to make a truly fun trading card that provided general information in areas such as science, history and nature. They entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with Marvel Enterprises, Inc. to manufacture and sell specific categories of products built around the globally recognizable Marvel Super Heroes(TM), including Spider-Man(TM), The Incredible Hulk(TM), X-Men(TM), Elektra(TM), Daredevil(TM) and the Fantastic Four(TM).
The Genio Card deck is made up of 360 illustrated cards that cover 30 subject areas. Even though Genio provides a learning experience, it is also an exciting game in which children can challenge opponents. Genio's Official Card Collector Album is a spiral-bound book that arranges cards by subject matter. It provides collectors with a method to safely store and protect their collection. The company currently has a patent pending for clear plastic card protectors that can be used to mount each card in its assigned space
Genio Group Inc. has marketed the cards on their web site www.geniocards.com, through a direct response television campaign, and on a variety of cable channels and networks including Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, USA, and Lifetime among others. The growing interest in the cards on the part of children in the 7-12 age bracket led to the distribution deals with major U.S. retailers. The company plans to release a new set of cards in March 2004.
