January 16th, 2004: No more will big and tall people fear joining a personal dating site. Fear no more entering how many pounds you way or how tall you are. There are only a few options to select at datebigandtall.com: big, tall, and big and tall.
The Idea: Debbie Martin is a 36 year old single mother that happens to be “big”. “Meeting men outside of bars is difficult, especially when you are at an age where everyone seems to be married and having children”. Another difficulty seems to be the stigma attached to “big” people. The idea came to her one day during lunch with her grandmother as she wondered how people meet each other.
Current online personal sites make you enter your exact weight and height—a way to weed out the big people. datebigandtall.com is only intended for big and tall people. To qualify as big you must be at least 30 pounds over weight. To qualify as tall you must be at least 5’ 11”.
