The Family Assistance Center's 8th Annual Fundraiser will feature Erica Harold, Miss America 2003.

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 3, 2004 -- The proceeds from the event will be used for general operating costs and the extension of the center�s services to fathers through their program, The Houston Fatherhood Initiative.

This year�s event is entitled �A Texas Sized Lunch Affair� with Erica Harold, Miss America 2003 and Albert Hawkins, Executive Commissioner of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission as the guest speakers. Last year�s event featured guest speaker Star Parker of the �Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education�. The event also honored Father Joseph D. Konkel for his support and assistance of The Family Assistance Center�s maternal assistance and abstinence education programs. The event will also include a silent auction.



The day�s events conclude with The Family Assistance Center�s Teen Abstinence Awareness Rally also taking place at Houston�s First Baptist Church. This event starts at 6:00pm and also features Erica Harold, Miss America 2003.



The Family Assistance Center is a non-profit crisis pregnancy, maternal and family assistance center offering education, counseling, spiritual support and service programs that will empower individuals and families to become productive citizens.
