Heidi Computers Limited has released Spam Blackout, an Anti-Spam program
that brings only wanted mail to your Inbox.
Spam Blackout blocks Spam in a safe and easy to use manner. It comes
with a powerful Spam filtering engine and works with any Email Client
Program e.g. Ms Outlook etc. It even downloads from Hotmail, POP3 &
IMAP.
The Spam Filters include an Internet BlackList lookup for known spammers
so that contact with them is prohibited, Friends/Enemy List to allow you
to receive emails from friends only, Bayesian Analysis which calculates
the probability of a message being spam based on its contents, Regular
Spam Expressions, Email Attachment Filter with the ability to delete,
quarantine or compress particular emails as they come through, options
to strip all HTML, dangerous HTML & all attachments from emails.
The Spam Blackout Spam Filtering engine has a Plugin architecture,
allowing you to add new Spam filters.
Spam Blackout places Spam securely in it's Spam queue. While they remain
in the Spam queue, they are held in encrypted form in the database. If a
legitimate email is classified as Spam, you can simply move it to the
Non-Spam folder, so that it is received into your Inbox. Spam Blackout
places emails containing viruses into Quarantine.
The email viewer that comes with Spam Blackout is virus proof.
Spam Blackout gives you the option to synchronise your local PC clock
Date and Time with that of an External Day/Time Server, so your email
dates and times are always accurate. It also lets you decide how often
you want to check the External Server for emails.
Spam Blackout runs happily on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 & XP.
