The WLBA announces the winner of the 1st Collector Of The Year Award.

The Award will be presented each year in recognition for a collector's passion for logo golf ball collecting and their commitment to promoting the hobby. The award was announced Friday Feb 5th 2004 in Los Angeles, Ca by Clint Wood, President of the WLBA.



Mr. Wood, went on to announce that the "Collector of the year award is given in recognition of the winner's involvement in the WLBA and their commitment to promoting the hobby of logo golf ball collecting.

Barry Mates (aka: Golf Ball Barry), from Tucson Arizona was selected as the WLBA's Collector of the year for 2003. Barry has been collecting for more than 10 years and has an amazing collection to be over 50,000 balls! His collection is displayed in his home, occupying most of three rooms and by now most of his garage. Like all good collectors, Golf Ball Barry is always on the lookout and ready to trade with other collectors. To qualify for this award the collector must (1) be a member of the WLBA (www.logoball.com). (2) The collector must display their collection (of any size) proudly in his or her home or office.
