Democrats Building Bridges to a New Progressive South
Durham, North Carolina, January 7, 2004
— The Hispanic Democrats of North Carolina are convening a ten state Democratic Party issues forum in Durham, NC February 28, 2004. The forum is being attended by the National Democratic Party Hispanic Caucus. State Democratic Party minority outreach representatives and Hispanic leaders from south-eastern states will discuss how Hispanics are shaping the new south, southern voters and the Democratic Party and these implications during a Presidential election year.
North Carolina will host Hispanic state Democratic party leaders from Alabama, Georgia, FLorida, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Leaders will hear how each state is handling hispanic issues and share how they are shaping party issues. Hispanic leaders will have an opportunity to model North Carolina’s and other state’s successful Hispanic chapters of the Democratic Party.
The ten state conference will be held in the Raleigh/Durham area February 28, 2004 at the Holiday Inn, RTP.
