February 11, 2004 (Press Release) --
Holy Hip Hop artists from across the country will get the chance to Showcase their unique brand of Urban Gospel during the Urban Gospel Industry (UGI) Awards & Conference held July 14th - 17th in Riverside, CA. Conference attendees and the surrounding community are sure to be blessed by the addition of an all Holy Hip Hop Showcase highlighting the lyrical and ministry skills of some of the nations most talented artists.
Formed after the successful "Bridging The Gap Gospel Hip Hop Conference", Urban Gospel Alliance (UGA) wanted to pay homage to the roots of the organization by adding a showcase to stress the importance of including Holy Hip Hop under the Urban Gospel umbrella.
"It's unfortunate, but there are still people out there that don't think Holy Hip Hop artists are doing ministry," said UGA National Director Curtis Jermany. "We wanted to make sure that as an organization we show the Holy Hip Hop artists that we not only support their ministry, but want to give them the same opportunities to minister that other Urban Gospel artists are afforded."
The Holy Hip Hop Showcase will be held on July 16th at 7 PM. Like the other New Artist & Late Night Showcases, prospective participants must meet the following requirements:
· Be members of Urban Gospel Alliance (UGA) (if not already a member, the membership application can be sent in with media kit)
· Submit a press kit (including CD) to UGA Nationals (UGA/Showcase, P.O. Box 5211, Oakland, CA 94605)
· Minister at a local UGA sponsored event
· Be prepared to submit a nominal fee once chosen (fee includes product booth)
