Internet Exchange has been awarded major funding from the London Development Agency and the European Social Fund to offer free IT Certification training to London businesses with less than 250 employees. Businesses in the capital now have the opportunity to train their staff in IT skills, including Microsoft and CompTIA certification for freeThe training helps develop individuals within organisations, giving them widely recognised qualifications in IT.
The London Development Agency is the Mayor's agency for business and jobs, and is funding the scheme until December 2004. The training can be accessed at any of the 17 IE Training Centres in London, and once registered; training can be undertaken online within any IE Training Centre, from the employee’s work place or from the trainee’s home. There are online tutors available 24 hours a day.
The Microsoft and CompTIA courses are designed for those working with IT to achieve a desired level of qualification, from Microsoft Certified Professional, which provides a reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise, through to Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, which equips trainees with the skills to implement and administer an IT network.

IT training is normally a major expense for any company, especially small businesses and start-ups, but now they have the opportunity to get professional training for their staff at absolutely no cost to themselves.
