FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 22, 2004 -- ( EMAILWIRE.COM, February 19, 2004 ) CEDAR KNOLLS - The market for business DSL services in Europe will reach ?7.5 billion in revenue by 2008, with the number of installed lines reaching 3.5 million. A new report from Probe Group, "Business DSL Services in Europe" forecasts service provider revenues and line growth, and examines the business DSL market in several major European countries.

"The population density and large number of central offices make Europe a natural market for DSL," comments John Marcus, Probe Group Vice President. "Despite actions by national regulators and the European Union, incumbents still hold the edge in the DSL market."

"There were 1.5 million business DSL lines in service at year end 2003," Marcus continued. "This will grow to 3.5 million lines by 2008. Small and medium businesses make up the vast majority of the market," he concluded. Despite inroads made by fiber and Ethernet, particularly in metro markets, DSL will be the access method of choice for small and medium business.

Probe's recent report, "Business DSL Services in Europe," forecasts revenues and line deployment for business DSL in Europe. In addition, profiles for five countries of Western Europe are included. The report is part of the Enterprise Data Services and Markets series, which provides ongoing analysis of the worldwide market for enterprise data services.
