February 24, 2004 (Press Release) -- Author Teams Up To Help Feed The Children!

Merrill, WI author, Alyice Edrich, partners with Feed The Children

Foundation to help families who struggle to make ends meet during the

last week of the month. Edrich, who wrote a workbook to help parents

get a handle on their finances, agrees to donate $5 from the sale of

each "Build Upon A Firm Foundation" electronic book sold through her

online parenting publication, The Dabbling Mum

(http://thedabblingmum.com), to Feed The Children's Child-A-Week

Program.

"One person can make a difference," explains Edrich. "Often, we read

about superstars like the Oak Ridge Boys or Kathy Ireland reaching

out and making a difference through large contributions and think our

small contributions won't matter, let alone make a difference. But

the truth is that small contributions do matter. They add up."

Edrich grew up in Southern California where her single mother often

went without eating so that she and her younger sister could have a

nice dinner. "I never knew my mom was sacrificing her meals for us,"

says Edrich. "I just thought she was trying to lose weight. No

parent should have to starve so that their children can eat and no

child should have to go to bed hungry."

As a mother of two children, ages 9 and 13, and the wife of a full-

time college student, Edrich understands the struggles of stretching

a dollar and trying to put together a full meal during the last week

of every month. "We've been fortunate," says Edrich. "But there are

many families out there that don't have anything left in the

cupboards to make a meal with, let alone a side-dish. It's my hope

that by offering some of the proceeds from the sale of my finance e-

book to Feed The Children I will be educating parents who don't know

about the program to either call for help or call to become a

sponsor."

The Palm Centro from Sprint announced today the exceptional price of only $99. This is great news for consumers who want a smart phone, but don't want to shell out mega-prices for one.
