Rosalynn Sumners Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Olympic Silver Medal with Marriage and New Career

Seattle, Washington: Rosalynn Sumners, World Champion, three time National Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist in figure skating at the 1984 Games in Sarejevo, Yugoslavia, has launched a real estate development company, based in Seattle, WA. She has given this company, Silver Lining Homes, the same commitment, attention to detail and quality elements that made her a successful athlete for over 2 decades. The first property developed sold immediately; and future properties to be developed will either be waterfront or view projects.

Silver Lining Homes has two additional partners, with Rosalynn functioning as the designer. Roz comments, “I am building each project as if I were going to live there myself. The designing is also a way to continue to express myself artistically, just as I was able to do in my skating.”

April 25, 2004, in Palm Springs, CA Rosalynn will marry her fiancée of 9 years, Bob Kain, CEO of IMG. Invited guests are from the worlds of tennis, ice skating, IMG and Seattle, which she has always considered her home, and where she has maintained a residence. Expected to attend are Chris Evert, Bjorn Borg, Billie Jean King, Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguchi, Katarina Witt and Pete Sampras.

As Roz eases into the next phases of her life she says, "I think I just want to be remembered for what feelings my figure skating brought to people; for having brought emotion into people's lives; and just for giving them that little peek into what we love to do so much."

Roz was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Association's Hall of Fame January 19, 2001.
