Mayor Oscar Goodman Proclaims Roy Horn Las Vegas Citizen of the Month for April 2004

Roy Horn Update April 2004 : Mayor Oscar Goodman Honors Fallen Performer



Proclaims Roy Horn Las Vegas Citizen of the Month for April 2004



In a move that thrilled Siegfried and Roy fans worldwide, including Vegas Buzz ( www.vegasbuzzz.com), Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman proclaimed Roy Horn Las Vegas Citizen of the month, in a special ceremonial session of today's City Council. The Mayor lauded Horn's contributions to Las Vegas and wished him a speedy recovery.

Manager Bernie Yuman, accepted the award on behalf of Roy, and made the following statement:



"We are thrilled at Roy's progress, cognitive skills are excellent, he's articulate, communicating, just as handsome as ever, dedicating seven to eight hours a day to physical therapy... he's doing great..."



Manager Bernie Yuman, who says the 59-year-old Horn is improving daily and expects to be able to make public appearances by early September.

Yuman says co-star Siegfried Fischbacher couldn't attend because he was heading to Los Angeles to work on an animated TV show about a family of white lions in their show.



Horn and Fischbacher have lived in Las Vegas for 35 years and have long been active in city promotions, and animal shelter and training programs.



Last week, The Mirage hotel-casino took down a nearly basketball court-sized image of the duo from the Las Vegas Strip. (See related Vegas Buzz article here ).



The show closed after Horn was attacked October 3, 2004.



Vegas Buzz continues to pray for the full recovery and return to the stage of Roy Horn.
