New Orleans, LA - Hailing from the city known for Mardi Gras, Water Seed, will bring a taste of New Orleans to Columbus, GA. Raised on Funk, Jazz and
R&B, the sounds of the band have been called everything from mind-blowing to revolutionary. The public is invited to come out and party with Water Seed on April 24, 2004 at Uptown Tap located at 1024 Broadway at 10 p.m.
When the two founders, Louis and Lindsey, joined forces to create Water Seed, they knew the band was destined for greatness. Louis, a professionallytrained drummer and composer, was raised on the streets of New Orleans. After spending his early years studying funk and R&B, he took up classical and jazz during college. Louis went on to play with the late, great and
internationally known Raymond Miles, the Blues and R&B legend Ernie K-Doe,the famous jazz family known as The Jordan’s, the infamous Marsalis family and several street funk brass bands. Lindsey, born in New Orleans and raised in Washington D.C., is a professionally trained vocalist and composer with the versatility to reach any audience. She has performed with the New
Orleans Black Choral and countless other professionals.
In just six month’s time, Water Seed infiltrated the New Orleans, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia music scenes; playing gigs from Tipitina’s Uptown (New Orleans), The House of Blues (New Orleans), Zanzibar On The Waterfront (Washington D.C.) to the Apache Café (Atlanta), Bohemian Cavern (Washington D.C.) and the Hard Rock Café (New Orleans).
Knowledge and Growth, the highly anticipated Water Seed CD is hot off the press. Guest musicians include Cherie Mitchell (Chuck Brown, Pieces of A Dream, George Duke and Wynton Marsalis to name a few), Walter Cosby (Julie Dexter, Fertile Ground) and Claudia “Kool Keys” Rogers (the #1 keyboardist for Salt ‘N Pepa).
