'Chekhovs Comedies' at the Monnot Theater
In commemoration of Anton Chekhovs centennial anniversary, The International Performance Group (IPG) will be performing four one-act plays based on the Russian playwrights short comedies. The show, which consists of The Employee, About the Dangers of Smoking, The Bear, and A Natural Tragedy will take place at the Monnot Theater from May 14 to 30 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Translated and adapted to colloquial Lebanese the plays safeguard Chekhovs timeless humor. Anton Chekhov (1860-1904), was the author of several plays including The Bear, Uncle Vania, and The Seagull as well as several other short stories. Since his death, Chekhovs plays have become famous worldwide and he has come to be considered the greatest Russian storyteller and dramatist of modern times. Tickets for Chekhovs Comedies are 10,000 LBP for all shows. Seating will take place on a first come first serve basis.
