'Chekhov�s Comedies' at the Monnot Theater (Beirut, Lebanon)

In commemoration of Anton Chekhov�s centennial anniversary, The International Performance Group (IPG) will be performing four one-act plays based on the Russian playwright�s short comedies. The show, which consists of �The Employee�, �About the Dangers of Smoking�, �The Bear�, and �A Natural Tragedy� will take place at the Monnot Theater from May 14 to 30 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Translated and adapted to colloquial Lebanese the plays safeguard Chekhov�s timeless humor. Anton Chekhov (1860-1904), was the author of several plays including �The Bear�, �Uncle Vania, and �The Seagull� as well as several other short stories. Since his death, Chekhov�s plays have become famous worldwide and he has come to be considered the greatest Russian storyteller and dramatist of modern times. Tickets for �Chekhov�s Comedies� are 10,000 LBP for all shows. Seating will take place on a first come first serve basis.
