Tip Top Job's survey reveals that the majority of employees prefer to use their favourites to help them access work-related websites.

Research by Tip Top Job reveals that employees keep their favourites list relevant to their work and job in hand. 80% of respondents put work-related websites as number 1 in their list of favourites that they have stored in their browser.
The survey asked employees in a small UK company what order they put their most used websites in for quick and simple access. Work-related sites, job boards, news, sports, personal emails and holiday/leisure/shopping and travel sites were ordered with regards to importance/priority/relevance.
30% of employees admitted putting job boards second in their list. 10% put them last and the remaining 60% placed them mid-range. Clearly, employees are still keeping job board websites in their favourites list to check up on the latest jobs available on the Internet and keep their eyes out for their next potential job. Just make sure your boss doesn’t catch you when you are conducting your next job search.
The majority of employees put holiday/leisure/shopping and travel sites at the bottom of their list. In fact, a massive 90% find them the least important, rating them as one of the last 3 in the list.
Personal emails, such as, hotmail and yahoo were put in the top 3 for 50% of responders. Some individuals use their personal emails for work-related correspondence explaining their high rating but this response does suggest a slight concern for private correspondence throughout the day.
News and sports sites resulted in a range of response with about half of the responders putting them highly in the list and about half at the bottom. All this reveals is that employees like to check the latest football/cricket scores and keep updated with the latest news and headlines.
Favourites allow Internet users to access their most used websites quickly and easily. Tip Top Job's survey reveals that although there is still a common desire to have non work-related websites somewhere in their favourites for easy access, the majority of employees prefer to use their favourites to help them access work-related websites.
