The long awaited 3rd Generation Self-Heating meal, the INFERNO, is finally here...
For_Immediate_Release:

May 18, 2004 (Press Release) -- Rocklin, California May 13, 2004: AlpineAire Foods, a division of TyRy, Inc. announces the introduction of INFERNO, their 3rd generation, self-heating meal.

Unlike units that the company marketed in the past, INFERNO was developed by the in-house R&D team at TyRy, Inc. "Our main goal with INFERNO was to bring to market a self heating meal product that was both easy to operate, and as environmentally responsible as possible with this type of product", stated Don Gearing, President. Mr. Gearing went on to discuss briefly the history of the self-heating meal project. "In the late 90's AlpineAire introduced the first self contained self heating meal product. As popular as this unit was with Hikers, campers, and travelers from all walks of life, the product was cumbersome and relatively primitive, we called it the lunch bag. Understanding that we needed to offer a product that was more compact and easier to use led to a short lived relationship with a European distributor who offered what appeared to be the perfect answer. Unfortunately the product was cumbersome, heavy, and offered minimal substance in the food category, this one we ended up calling, The Brick.

In August of 2003 TyRy, Inc. added Aron Clark to their team as National Director of Sales for AlpineAire Foods, and to head the product development department. Together with the TyRy, Inc. management team, development if the INFERNO began in earnest. “The most enjoyable aspect of this project has been the level of genuine excitement demonstrated by everyone involved, from colleagues to suppliers. It’s experiences like this that make all of the late nights and antacids worth the effort.” Said Mr. Clark.

Initial shipments of the INFERNO begin the last week of May 2004 to fill pre-launch orders, full national distribution of the INFERNO begins June 1, 2004.

AlpineAire Foods was introduced to the outdoor market in 1979 as a meaningful option to available ultra-light meals. Since that time they have been instrumental in making positive changes in this segment of the industry by raising the bar on quality, and introducing new and innovative packing and products. In the year 2000, Don Gearing, a prior employee of the company, purchased the brand label and incorporated it under the TyRy, Inc. umbrella. Along with it’s own three brand labels, AlpineAire Foods, Instant Gourmet, and Gourmet reserves, TyRy has diversified by adding private label packaging, proprietary product development, co-packaging into their operation. The goal of TyRy, Inc. is to position itself as the premium packager of all meals instant.
