May 19, 2004 (Press Release) --
The latest statistics published at this month’s E3 Expo show that 50% of all Americans play video games 39% of which are female. To support the rapidly growing population of gamers, a new video game network focusing on the community and individuals behind the games was launched. GameAmp, Inc has officially opened its doors to the public by offering the world a unique take on community and competitive gaming.
GameAmp, founded by Eric Filson and Mason Ambrose was built on the premise that there is a sense of community missing from online gaming that was once present during the early to mid 90s. “Current gaming networks fail to deliver value, but excel in providing content,” said Filson.
The GameAmp Network brings a unique credibility system to the community.
The network, which plans to offer prizes to its users, ranks its members by how much they participate in the community. Players who achieve higher ranks through gaining credibility are allowed access to exclusive content and are qualified to win prizes.
“The only thing we ask of gamers is to contribute and help others in the community,” said Ambrose. "This allows GameAmp to remain free to anyone with an Internet connection and helps build virtual communities online."
In addition to creating a sense of community, GameAmp also offers tips and advice on how to increase your gaming potential. Advice is offered from pro gamers, some of which who are ranked in the top ten of world players.
These gamers earn their income solely from competitive gaming. This type of unique content delivers value to visitors of the network and strays from the traditional game related information only format.
