May 20, 2004 (Press Release) --
May 20, 2004 - WowGao Inc. today announced that Dean Douglas, Vice President, Telecommunications Industry, IGS Global Services, IBM will present his business perspective into the wireless world at the 2004 Wireless & Mobile WorldExpo, taking place July 21-22, 2004 at the National Trade Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto, Canada.
Douglas is a highly regarded expert in the telecommunications industry. He leads IBM's work in providing a broad set of services to both fixed line and wireless carriers. Key initiatives that Douglas and his team have focused on include the management of customer care for US based wireless carriers, development of new network infrastructures to support wireless data deployments, rapid product development platforms for carriers and development of new and innovative WiFi strategies.
Douglas' presentation will give business decision-makers direction for their enterprises in the current, dynamic wireless landscape. His message to wireline and wireless carriers, businesses in all industries, and business partners is about applying very traditional business sense in a very nontraditional business world.
Before joining IBM, Douglas spent seven years with Motorola in a number of roles that included global management of business development for Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group. Before leaving Motorola, Douglas was General Manager of Invisix, a Cisco/Motorola joint venture created to exploit emerging wireless IP technology.
In his eight-year involvement with the telecommunications industry, Douglas has played a pivotal role in developing many of Motorola's wireless data and wireless cellular initiatives. While based in London, Douglas managed marketing and business development for Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this position he helped to drive adoption of GPRS and UMTS through a series of marketing initiatives and new ventures related to both infrastructure as well as enabling applications.
