BadCopy Pro - UDF CD Reader and Recovery Tool to Recover and Retrieve Data from UDF Disc
BadCopy Pro is a leading data recovery software utility to recover and retrieve corrupt, lost data from UDF CDs. It supports inaccessible and lost data and files retrieval. It can recovers CD created by Roxio DirectCD and Ahead Nero InCD.
Some situations which BadCopy Pro can help you:
1. Retrieve data from UDF disc or packet-writing CD.
2. Recover lost data from CD created by "drag & drop" CD burners (e.g. DirectCD, InCD).
3. Recover data from open and left "as-is" UDF discs.
4. CD data rescue for damaged or corrupted CDs.
5. Other CD data loss or corruption situations.

About UDF Format:
1. What's is UDF format?
It's a newer CDROM filesystem standard that's required for DVD roms. It's meant to be a replacement for the ISO9660 filesystem used on today's CDROMs, but the immediate impact for most will be DVD. DVD multimedia cdroms use the UDF filesystem to contain MPEG audio and video streams.
To access DVD cdroms you would need a DVD cdrom drive, the kernel driver for the cdrom drive, some kind of MPEG video support, and a UDF filesystem driver (like this one). See the Livid project for news and software for playing DVDs. UDF can also be used by CD-R and CD-RW recorders in what's known as "packet writing".
By using "packet writing", CDs can be written to more efficiently, in both disk space used, and the time it takes to write the CD. Adaptec's DirectCD is a Win95/WinNT example of packet writing, using the UDF version 1.5 filesystem.
2. What's is Packet-writing?
This method allows you to write data to a CD in small increments instead of large blocks as with disk-at-once and track-at-once.
It eliminates the session closing overheads inherent in the multisession method of adding data to a disk in more than one write. However, you cannot write CD-DA (aka Red Book) audio disks using packet writing.
With packet writing, you can use your CD-R just like a hard drive. With packet writing, there is no need to open or close a session each time data is written, which means even the CD-R novice should be able to copy data to CD with relative ease.
3. Popular UDF/Packet-writing CD mastering softwares
:: Roxio CD Creator - DirectCD
:: Ahead Nero - InCD
