May 24, 2004 (Press Release) --
Sect Seven is.. A separist movement dedicated to reviving the fundamental need for humanity to govern itself.Ego is a powerful device, and since the inception of monetary systems to proliferate trade and aquisitions in society, we have lost the right to gain for ourselves what we deserve and not what we can afford. In 1996 Sect Seven was Jordan on guitar and drum machine, Chris on vocals, and his brother Brandon feigned keyboard to add depth to the band visuall.
Soon after the inception of Chris and Jordan as an entity, Chris's cousin Rudy was added on as drummer. Unfortunately at that time Sect Seven had no drum set, instead using drum machines, pots, pans, and other erroneous devices to make rythem. The first actual show was a party thrown by the band on the side of a mountain in Arizona. The line-up was Jordan on guitar, Chris on vocals, Brandon faking key's, and Rudy on bass. After the showJordan and Chris drove to Oklahoma to pick up a drum set, and began the ideoligy of a band as a cult to lead the masses to an alternate society more favorable than our own. Over the course of the next six months the band( at this time closer to the current line-up) formed the foundation of Sect Seven, prcticing in Francisco's Studio's in Phoenix. The line-up was completed in 1999 with the addition of Gregg (an old friend and previous band member of Rudy's ) on the bass. This was finalized in October of '99 at the first legitimate show at th Mason Jar.
Sect Seven continued on through '00 playing out at many local Arizona venues including Bostons, The Green Room, Jugheads, Glendale Community College, and many other locations. This line-up did not change until the end of '00 when a second bass was added; an old band mate of Jordan's named Damon. More shows continued along with a larger studio in '01. In the fall Gregg was dropped from the line-up permanently due to drug issues, the band suffered writers block for the remainder of the year, and in '02 was put on hiatus for creative differences.
In the summer of '03 Sect Seven reunited with a newer more electronic sound and an additional keybaordist Thomas. Sect Seven spent the majority of the summer locked in Jordan's apartment recording raw ideas and expanding the musical horizon further that it had ever gone before. Then in the fall of '03 S.S. burst back into the scene headlinining at the Mason Jar, and the State Fair. Thomas due to creative reasons left the band after five months to be replaced by Fight, a keyboardist/programmer that gave the final touch to what was to be known as the enigma that is Sect Seven. At the close of the year SectSeven moved out of Jordan's apartment and into a 1200 square foot recording studio and art space that is now the global headquarters of Sect Seven In early 2004 d covell and c fite quit the band we replaced d covell with josh and are no longer seeking a keyboardist.
