Altimate Medical, Inc. located in Morton, MN; manufacturer of the EasyStand and Ovation standing products has received ISO 13485:2003 certification. Altimate Medical made the decision to pursue certification in September 2002. In March, 2003 we aggressively started pursuing certification, with a goal to be certified by March, 2004.
Stacey Frank, Altimate Medical’s General Manager headed up the project by serving as the Quality Management Representative. A Quality Steering Team (QST) was formed to assist in the process; the QST consisted of the following four individuals: Stacey Frank, General Manager, Michael Bavier, Production Manager, Jeff Schmidt, Product Development, and Diane Amberg, Documentation Control.
After much preparation, which included a variety of training sessions, biweekly QST meetings, and creation and implementation of the needed quality system documentation, Altimate Medical had their certification audit on March 11 – 12, 2004. The audit concluded in Altimate Medical, Inc. being recommended for certification.
Altimate Medical chose SGS International Certification Services, Inc. as their registrar and was officially certified on April 19, 2004. Altimate Medical currently sells their standing products throughout the world, through 28 international distributors covering 30 countries.
