June 11, 2004 (Press Release) --
This is no Cinderella story. It's an evil stepmother story. The first chapter is historical in nature and brings the reader up to speed on the lives of the two brothers that became partners, their wives and children. The second chapter develops the family members more fully and takes the reader through some rather dramatic ups and downs.
The opening scene with the stepmother, Betty, throwing a "fit" is very colorful and memorable. It's the most important event and driving force of what's yet to come. Betty's "fit" will remain etched in every reader's mind. Not since Betty Beets, the black widow serial killer, has there been a book written about such an evil woman.
Wes' six children suspect Betty has forged their father's will, and may have something to do with his mysterious death. They have good reasons to suspect their stepmother is up to no good. Wes had told some of them that Betty had forged her own father's will, killed her only brother and became an heir to both of their estates. He also warned them that Betty would attempt to get his estate and disinherit them upon his death.
Although Wes thought he had his affairs in order before he died, his children's world is turned upside down when they can't find his real will, the will that made Betty throw the fit at the hospital. Two of Wes' children, Sydney and Heather, won't give up until they get to the truth. They begin their own investigation and come up with some outstanding discoveries. The clock is ticking as they prepare for an unforgettable courtroom battle.
