On July 15, 2004, Piano’s will host the Welcome 2 Babble On album release party for wordsmiths, Second2Last. Piano's is located on 158 Ludlow Street. The event will take place from 7-10 p.m.

With Def Poetry returning to HBO for another season and the success of its’ Broadway run, the art of spoken word has become widely accepted and respected.
On July 15, 2004, NYC's legendary performance space Piano’s, will host the Welcome 2 Babble On album release party for wordsmiths, Second2Last. For one evening, Piano's located on 158 Ludlow Street, will become music's indisputable Babylon. Welcome 2 Babble On will be an evening of original music, celebration and surprises lasting from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. In addition to goody bags and special guests, party goers will also get to experience an 'exclusive' Babble On performance at 8:30 SHARP. Poised to go far, Babble On (the album) has already secured international distribution in both Japan and the UK.
Johny Lashley, Bade Francis, Brian Polite and Aisha Bell are the four principles that bring about Second2Last. Fusing blues, soul, reggae and hip-hop, Second2Last mixes poetry and rhythm for a graphic sound that makes them refreshingly eccentric. This musical quad tackles complex social issues and delivers soul with strong conviction, providing an unexpected blend of conscious-raising words and beats.
The superlative foursome's indescribable talent has led them to spotlight performances with Ruby Dee (actress/activist), Louis Reyes Rivera (historian/poet), Jessica Care Moore (poet/publisher), Danny Glover (actor/activist), Sonia Sanchez (poet/professor/activist), Yusef Komunyakaa (1994 Pulitzer prize winner), The Pharcyde and Mos Def (hip-hop trendsetters). Second2Last's latest musical endeavors have taken on an international leg by the recent inclusion on Japanese producer, Kaoru Inoue's aka Chari Chari, sophomore album In Time.
For those drawn to the notion of hip hop in the 70's with the last poets and Watts prophets, who were seminal figures in our culture, just as Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie were in the Be-Bop revolution of the 1940s - Second2Last wants to be a saving grace.
