June 17, 2004 (Press Release) --
WINZERO, (Winzero Custom Solutions), Vancouver, BC announces DataClone, a real-time data migration solution that safely reduces the time to benefit of Windows 2003 server deployments. Winzero’s DataClone, allows IT professionals to quickly deploy Microsoft Windows 2003 Servers and transfer data from older servers without risk and compromise to data access security.
As Microsoft-centric enterprises plot their upgrades from NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 servers to Windows 2003, they need not lose sight of the effort it will take to accomplish two related tasks: migrating data from an old environment or consolidating multiple old servers to a new server.
To address these challenges, Winzero released Winzero DataClone to reduce both time and risks associated with data migrations and consolidations between older Windows servers, and Windows 2003 servers.
One of Winzero DataClone's highlights is that enterprise data never has to be taken offline during migration process. DataClone's other main attraction is that it preserves directory and file permissions as well as access control lists even as data is moved across server partitions, domains and directory structures. In addition, Winzero DataClone transfers local groups between servers and retains permissions for those groups as well as leaving network shares and their permissions intact even as data is moved.
"With Winzero DataClone, we can have less-skilled administrators do data migration with high levels of success instead of using senior staff for the job," says Gonzerelli Doleman, Senior IT Consultant with DHL Seattle, WA. "We moved large amounts of data, but recreating 300 to 350 shares and setting permissions on those with logon scripts would have been a time-consuming task. We would have had to research our permissions on each share and then recreate them by hand on the new server. The latter solution was just not an option."
Doleman says users were never affected by the change. He also plans to use the DataClone to consolidate multiple servers onto one Windows 2003 server and increase the companies ROI by reducing the number of server their IT staff has to maintain.
“Winzero has always maintained its core focus of understanding IT professional’s repetitive administrative challenges and creating software solutions that surpass their needs. Our DataClone product accomplishes data migration challenges by reducing time, risk and costs associated with Windows 2003 server deployments.” - JP Hann, Winzero Marketing Director.
