The University of Oklahoma (OU) and Cameron University will hold their annual Graduation Recognition Ceremony at the Village Pavilion on Patrick Henry Village this Sunday, June 27th, 2004 at 1400.

University of Oklahoma Graduation Recognition Ceremony Highlighted by Graduate Participation



Eppelheim, Germany - OU will recognize the almost 400 students who have either completed their Master Degree or PhD degrees in Fall 2003 or Spring 2004 or who will complete their course work this Summer 2004. A congratulatory listing of all students will be included in a full page advertisement in the Stars and Strips newspaper that Sunday, June 27th. About 100 of the graduating students will participate in the ceremony at the Village Pavilion. In addition over 700 family, friends and invited guests will attend including specially invited personnel from the military and educational communities as well as representative from Norman, Oklahoma.



Active participation of graduates will be the highlight of the ceremony. Three graduate speakers will represent each of the degree programs offered through The University of Oklahoma. Representing the Master of Arts in Human Relations will be Captain Michael Pierce stationed in Hohenfels, Germany, representing the Interdisciplinary Master of Arts with an Emphasis in International Relations program will be MSgt Leslie B. Ingram stationed in Lakenheath, and Dr Susan Kellett-Forsyth will represent the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. The graduates' speeches were chosen anonymously by a group of their peers. The subject of their speeches will be "What an OU Degree Means to Me".



US Air Force Captain Jamaal E. Mays from Ramstein will sing the Germany National Anthem as well as receive his Master Degree in International Relations. Singing the United States National Anthem will be PFC Clair Bridgewater from Heidelberg. The Ramstein Color guard will represent the military in posting and retiring of colors.
