June 22, 2004 (Press Release) --
Legendary rock vocalist and songwriter Lou Gramm has invited up and coming singer/songwriter Jessi Hamilton to collaborate with him on his new solo album, tentatively entitled DIVINE INTERVENTION . The record, which Gramm plans to begin recording this spring will be an album of classic rock and roll hits, that are decidedly Gospel and/or spiritual in nature.
“I am honored to be working with (Jessi Hamilton),” Gramm said after a recent meeting and day spent discussing the forthcoming album. Gramm listened to Hamilton's forthcoming self-titled debut album, which he said contained : “great songs, very melodic in their structure; with stong production and amazing vocals.”
Also asked to help record and produce Gramm's new album will be Hamilton's co-producers, Chris Stevens and Bruce Pilato, (who is also her manager). It was Pilato who introduced both Hamilton and Stevens to Gramm, after he gave the classic vocalist an advance copy of the forthcoming Jessi Hamilton debut album.
“ I grew up listening to many of the great songs that Lou Gramm wrote and recorded while in Foreigner and as a solo artist,” says Hamilton. “To be able to work in the studio and sing on one of his albums is an amazing honor and opportunity for an artist like myself. I had appeared on the same song with Lou for one track that will be on my guitarist, Don Mancuso's new solo album, but I did those vocals several weeks after Lou had done his vocals. This time, we will be singing and recording together.” Gramm is also exploring having The Jessi Hamilton Band appear as the opening act on select dates for his 2004 World Tour.
As the lead vocalist for the international supergroup, Foreigner, and as a solo artist, Gramm has released nearly a dozen platinum albums and sold over 150 million records, worldwide. He is best known for such classic rock and pop anthems as: “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent”, “Cold As Ice,” “Long Long Way From Home,” “Juke Box Hero”, “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “Head Games,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Midnight Blue,” “Ready or Not,” “Lost Boys,” “That Was Yesterday,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
