Succasunna, NJ -- July 1 --Today’s Artisans are hard at work creating new forms of artwork made out of the strangest materials. While Artisans of old had a very difficult time scavenging for materials from which to create their masterpieces, in today’s world, refuse recycling takes on a whole new meaning. Fueled with an abundance of left over materials, the use of recycling by artisans is becoming more widespread. The ingenuity of the human spirit lives on.
Made from recycled materials such as hex nuts, washers, copper and steel materials, the artisans from H&K Steel Sculptures® have captured, in metal form, the human spirit from virtually every walk of life. In their series of steel sculptures depicting the human condition, art truly imitates life.
Using what otherwise would have been discarded materials (ending up in our taxed landfills), these artisans are sculpting steel and copper into figures that depict people in their natural habitats, at work or play. Doctors, Lawyers, and Indian Chiefs, to name but a few, all depicted doing what they are known to do best. They are whimsical characters that will entertain you and your friends at home or in the office. The Steel Sculptures are available in two different forms; the Wine Caddies and the Steel Figure Sculptures. The Wine Caddies are whimsical steel sculptures that are designed to hold your favorite spirits (a normal size wine bottle) and are available in four styles or categories; the Professionals, Everyday Living, Sports, and For the Holidays. Each figure is designed in the wardrobe befitting the character. My favorite from the Professionals gallery is the Pilot, probably due the fact that my son is a pilot. The neck of the bottle supports the sculptured head of the figure while the bottle sits within the body of the sculpture. They will become treasured gifts to be enjoyed in any home décor. Perhaps the most intriguing of the sculptures are the Steel Figure Sculptures. While they are designed along the concepts of stick figures, these whimsical characters will entertain you for years to come. It seems hard to imagine how anyone would ever tire of having them around. Beyond the quality of the artwork, what will impress you the most is the sheer number of these characters. Each is unique in its own way, making it so very difficult to settle on just one.
With so many to choose from, most likely you will find at least one character you can associate with. In truth, it is more like three or four that you will connect with.
