FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- After the Dixie Chicks were slammed last year for exercising their free speech rights and criticizing President Bush, Ahab & the Whale Productions of Simi Valley, California thinks it's about time to publicly thank them for what now appears to be honest, heartfelt truth. That's why Ahab & the Whale are releasing a line of products from mugs to thongs, to announce "THE DIXIE CHICKS WERE RIGHT - BOOT BUSH 2004.'

Bart Sumner of Ahab & the Whale said, "As a writer and actor, I felt it was imperative to show support for individual artists' and their right to express their opinions. The Dixie Chicks received such bad press for their comments; I think they now should be commended for speaking their minds, especially since it appears they were correct. I was trying to find a way to express my ideas, and their plight kept coming back to me. There are lots of people, who first thought (The Dixie Chicks) were dead wrong, who have lost friends or family in Iraq, and now see the wisdom of their comments."
Mr. Sumner has written for Gotham City Improv in NYC, the USA Network, and feature films. Asked why he feels it’s important to put out a t-shirt that slams President Bush he states, “It’s not about slamming President Bush as much as it’s about getting people excited to vote this November. Too many important issues are at stake to let a vocal minority decide for all Americans. The important thing is people talk about the issues and go to the polls.”
