Window Covering Outlet Earns BlindCrafter of the Year Award
Royal Crest and The Blind Factory Receive Honorable Mentions
Orlando, Florida - On June 23, the first ever BlindCrafter of the Year award was presented to Dave Watkins of the Window Covering Outlet at the National BlindCrafter Convention in Orlando, Florida.
“Dave exemplifies the essence of the Comfortex BlindCrafter program,” stated John C. Fitzgerald, Executive Vice President for Comfortex. “We are pleased to honor him with this award.” Founding Window Covering Outlet in Boise, ID in 1994, Dave quickly saw the benefits of retail fabrication, initially fabricating Symphony cellular shades and shortly thereafter adding Woodwinds and Woodwinds Shutters. An early member of the Comfortex BlindCrafter program, Dave has seen his shutter business grow substantially in recent years, a large feat considering he has only 1,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Because of his strong local presence in the Boise area, Comfortex is practically a household name. His sales grew by more than 33% over the prior years and he is on track to exceed $500,000 in business with Comfortex this year.
Also honored at the convention were runners up Royal Crest of Oak Park, MI and The Blind Factory of Lakeland, FL.
Comfortex Window Fashions, founded in 1986, is an innovator in the window fashion industry. Thomas J.
