The “Clematis COOL…HOT…FUN and DRAMA” campaign highlights restaurants, clubs, retailers and cultural establishments. Some old favorites include Rooney’s Public House, Roxy’s, and Respectable Street…some new ones include Leila’s, Canteen and Café Mediterraneo.
“We want to remind people of all the great reasons they used to come to Clematis,” said Nancy Graham, executive director of the DDA. “And we think they’ll be pleasantly surprised to see the growing list of new businesses, services and entertainment.”
Summer in the City will be launched at Thursday’s Clematis by Night at Centennial Square. Attendees will have a chance to register to win HOT, COOL, FUN and DRAMAtic prizes. Drawings will be held at 6:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. and announced at the main stage.
The city’s parking administration office will also be unveiling the Summer in the City pre-paid parking meter cards, and will sell them in increments of $10 at the Summer in the City booth. But quantities are limited.
In further support of the Summer in the City campaign, many merchants have joined the city’s parking validation program which provides free parking to patrons in the city’s parking lots located at 200 2nd Street, 400 Datura Street and 500 Clematis Street, as well as garages located at 195 N.
