"Better Every Day" for JetSpeed Records

These down-home-boys-with-an-edge are aptly described as "the most rockingest thing" to come out of Newton, Texas. They have been together for 3 years, attracting a growing number of fans wherever they play. The majority of their live shows take place in Beaumont, Texas at such venues as The Art Studio, The Landing and Changing Times. They are also quite a hit in their little hometown where they enjoy shaking and waking up the neighborhood at house parties. Sometimes there just ain't nothin' like a mosh pit at your buddy's birthday barbeque! Better Every Day's fans and friends really enjoy their onstage humor and spontaneity. Hiram explains, "The audience thinks we're crazy. They love the stupid stuff we do, like when Jamie acts like Angus Young of ACDC."

It's not surprising then that the band's name was conceived out of a silly incident. Whilst the band was trying to come up with a name someone pointed at a plastic bag from a discount store and quoting part of the slogan, joked "You guys get BETTER EVERY DAY!" Everyone cracked up and decided then and

there that they would indeed be "Better Every Day".

The band's influences cover a wide range:

Hiram cites Dinosaur Junior, The Cure, Sonic Youth, Bush and Black Flag. Jamie says he is influenced by Hiram! He also admires NoFX and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pat enjoys anything from reggae to blues to punk/grunge, but in particular mentions Stevie Ray Vaughn and Pantera. To sum it all up, Better Every Day admit "We poke fun at ourselves, but are sincere in our music." Their debut CD "Hopeless Ambitions" is currently being mastered and will be available later this year.
