For the week of July 18, 2004, Counterfeiting Enforcement Activity has uncovered $345,930,835 in losses, documents, products and intellectual property.

· 45 Investigations, raids, seizures, arrests, charges laid and sentences relating to counterfeiting which uncovered more than 7,393,766 counterfeit items resulting in losses exceeding $345,930,835 USD.

· 4 suspected criminal organizations were affected (BCI Financial Services, Golden Science Technology Limited, Pharmacycards.com and Rajendra Yadav)

· Brand owners affected through this counterfeit activity were Oakley, Microsoft, Benson & Hedges, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Nike, Adidas, Proctor & Gamble, University of Victoria (Canada), and Levi

· Counterfeit items included applications, bank drafts, cashiers checks, CDs, certificates (education), checks, cheques, cigarettes, cinema films, clothing, cosmetics, credit cards, currency (Australian, US, Japan), computer games, degrees (university and college), diplomas, drivers licenses, designer clothing, DVDs, gin, gold coins, grade records, high school diplomas, household products, identity cards, immigration documents, liquified petroleum gas cylinders (LPG's), managers' cheques, mark sheets, medicines, passports, prescriptions, soap powder, software, sunglasses, VCDs, and working papers.

· Counterfeit activity (incidents, $ value, items) by country was: Australia (1, Australian currency, $300), Bulgaria (1, cigarettes, $6,000,000), Germany (1, software, $100,000,000), Greece (1, credit cards, $200,000,000), Hong Kong (1, CDs, $35,500,000), India (4, certificates, degrees, mark sheets, US currency, CDs, gold coins, $327,200), Indonesia (1, identity cards), Ireland (2, clothing, jeans, $310,065), Japan (1, Japanese currency, $45,000), Malaysia (2, VCDs, computer software, Video CDs, $815,000), Nigeria (1, gin, cosmetics, household product), Pakistan (1, US currency, $500,000), Philippines (1, liquified petroleum gas cylinders), Taiwan (3, US currency, high school diplomas, university degrees, $1,236,000), Thailand (1, medicines and drugs), Trinidad & Tobago (1, managers and certified cheques, $500,000), UK (6, CDs, computer software, applications, cigarettes, DVDs, designer clothing, soap powder, working papers, cheques, bank drafts, $60,000), USA (16, checks, drivers licenses, prescriptions, passports, DVDs, US currency, cashiers checks, immigration documents, sunglasses, clothing)
