WFLA Interview with Corporate Spy Turned Detective Sydney Newman Dotson
With James Bond music playing in the background, WFLA 1270 AM The Morning Show anchor Preston Scott introduced the former IBM Director of Corporate Business Intelligence, Sydney Newman Dotson, as a female corporate spy turned detective in Tallahasse Florida this morning.
Dotson's debut book, "No Greater Deception, A True Texas Story," skyrocketed to #1 on the Barnes & Noble Top 10 True Crime Biography Bestseller List this week.
"Making the Top 10 Bestseller List is wonderful. Being #1 is outstanding," says Dotson. "I hope Random House, HarperCollins and St. Martin's publishers are watching. They missed the opportunity to pick me up under their title and imprint. I self-published this book."
Barnes & Noble and Borders Bookstores were not prepared to meet the demand for this tell-all book written by a local Galveston County deputy sheriff's daughter. Customers were often told the book is "not in stock" or "not available."
Dotson's book is available on over 100 websites across the world including Barnes & Noble.com and Amazon.com.
A woman from Galveston said, "I can't wait to read this book. I think I will be able to figure out the real name of Dotson's father."
"I want to find out if her father had anything to do with the JFK assassination," said a Dallas man.
"I want to read about the evil stepmother," says a gift shop owner in Kemah.
"I refuse to be a victim of identity theft by stepmother. I'm a survivor", says Dotson. "You can ruin my credit, but don't steal my inheritance. I hope sharing my story with others will help prevent future identity thefts, forgeries and fraud across the country."
"It's a real-life Texas Soap Opera of Love, Death, Betrayal and Justice," says Liz Carpenter, author and Lady Bird Johnson's WHITE HOUSE Press Secretary.
In "No Greater Deception, A True Texas Story, Dotson's stepmother forges several family members' wills, and is implicated in their mysterious deaths.
Dotson has been seen on The NBC Today Show and PBS. She's currently speaking on radio station Talk Shows as an Identity Theft Expert. Detectives, profilers and handwriting experts are using her book as a textbook case study on identity theft and the criminal mind of a Black Widow forger.
